The Geeks are ready for Sunday, when all eyes will be on Anfield as current leaders Liverpool will host last year’s champions Manchester City. Jurgen Klopp’s men are eyeing their first championship trophy since 1990, and we are positive that they are going to fight tooth and nail against Man City. Liverpool are ahead in the table by six points and Klopp is eager to further that gap with another three points, while Guardiola wants to close it. Both teams are likely to adopt an attack-minded approach, so we might see a great game on Sunday.
Liverpool:
Liverpool came from behind to beat Aston Villa at Villa Park in their last league game, Sadio Mane scored the victory goal in the 94th minute. Liverpool are unbeaten at home in 45 league games, but clean sheets don’t happen too often of late. All their five home league games this season have been won but their opponents have also got on the scoresheet. Liverpool have had to battle hard for their points in recent weeks. A late penalty against Leicester and then going behind against Man United, Tottenham and Villa. Despite all those problems they still earned ten points out of 12. Even though Liverpool prefer winning, we believe that Liverpool would accept a draw to keep the distance to Man City.
Manchester City:
Man City had a similar situation last weekend when they also came from behind and won 2-1 win against Southampton. The Saints had the lead until minute 70 when Sergio Aguero equalized and Kyle Walker with only four minutes left scored the winning goal. Manchester City cannot go nine points behind Liverpool. Man City have had some great results this season but some unexplained losses too. City haven’t done well at Liverpool in the past with no recent league wins. They have a strong away record though and could win this to close the gap to three points. But a draw wouldn’t be a bad result for them either. Based on Liverpool´s performance at home, one point at Anfield is always a good result.
