At the Red Star Stadium in Belgrade, Stadion Rajko Mitic, Serbia will host the Nations League Champions Portugal in an exciting match in the European Championship qualifiers, where the Portuguese must be considered the favorites. Portugal is the better team and will probably win. The Serbs are always good offensively at home and Portugal have promised that they will go for the win so we believe we will see a couple of goals and an exciting game.
Serbia:
After three games, Serbia have 4 points (1W-1D-1L). Their Euro Qualification started with a draw in Lisbon against Portugal, and then followed by a total collapse in the 0-5 loss away to Ukraine. In the third game Serbia played at home and won 4-1 against Lithuania. Even though Lithuania is a weaker team than Ukraine and Portugal, Serbia have difficulties defending their own goal. The Serbs have to rely on their strong offensive with Tadic, Jovic and Mitrovic.
Portugal:
Due to this summer’s Nations League Finals, Portugal have only played two games of their Euro Qualification campaign. Their first game against Ukraine away ended in a 0-0 draw and was followed up by another draw against Serbia at home (1-1). The boss, Fernando Santos, said that this game is crucial for the Portuguese if they want to secure a direct qualification to the Euro Championship (finishing 1st or 2nd). So we believe that Portugal will go on the offensive. However, Portugal have a couple of injuries, among them the experienced center defender Pepe. Fernando Santos have called up Ferro to replace Pepe.
