There may be no pre-match handshakes in this week’s Champions second-leg match between PSG and Borussia Dortmund (Wednesday 11 March), but I doubt the threat of the Corona Virus will stop there being plenty of on-field contact.
Borussia have a 2-1 lead from the first leg, but surely won’t sit back and defend knowing an away goal or two could be crucial to their chances of progressing to the semifinals.

PSG vs Borussia Dortmund Match Details
PSG vs Borussia Dortmund kicks-off at 20.00 at the Parc des Princes and the match is being shown live on BT Sport.
PSG’s loss to Borussia Dortmund in the first leg followed a crazy 4-4 draw against Amiens in Ligue 1. But such is PSG’s dominance in the top-flight of French football, it’s easy to see why they struggle to play at their best week in week out.
But stirred by the possibility of exiting the Champions League at the first knockout stage, PSG have had their shooting boots on in their last three games, beating Bordeaux 4-3, Dijon 4-0, and Lyon 5-1.
Before their defeat in Germany, PSG had also been in terrific form in the Champions League group stages, winning their three home games to nil against Galatasaray (5-0), Brugge (1-0), and Real Madrid (3-0). They also beat Brugge and Galatasaray away, whilst drawing 2-2 in Madrid, when they fought back well with two goals in the final 10 minutes.
Borussia Dortmund Form
Borussia Dortmund currently sit four points behind Bayern Munich in the German Bundesliga, but they’ve been in fine form since beating PSG with three further wins.
But whilst Dortmund did well to progress from a group containing Barcelona and Inter Milan, they did lose 3-1 in Spain and 2-0 in Italy. They did win their other away group match against Slavia Prague, but it was their home form that earned them a place in the knockout stages.
PSG vs Borussia Dortmund Head-To-Heads
Head-To-Heads in Europe don’t have much bearing on future matches, but Borussia Dortmund are the team that can take the positives out of their previous matches with PSG. The two teams first met in the 2010 Europa League group stages, and both matches were drawn. Of course, Dortmund continued that unbeaten record when winning the first leg of this tie in Germany.
PSG vs Borussia Dortmund Free Tips
PSG have an excellent home record in the Champions League this season, winning all three home games to nil, and it would be easy to make a case for a PSG win at 4/5 (1.80), especially as Dortmund lost in both Spain and Italy in their group stage matches.
As Dortmund haven’t failed to score in a competitive match since November, it’s also easy to make a case for both teams to score. However, this is less generously priced at 2/5.
In the hope that this will be a high-scoring game, with Dortmund unlikely to try and defend a 2-1 lead, I’m willing to split my stakes on a 2-2 draw and a 3-2 win for PSG.
