It has been confirmed today that Cristiano Ronaldo will join Juventus after the club agreed to a €100m deal with Real Madrid.
33-year-old Ronaldo is looking forward to the new challenge following nine successful years with Read Madrid.
Ronaldo has signed a four-year deal with the Serie A club, his salary reported to be in the region of €30m. Due to Italy’s tax laws, clubs have to pay the same amount in tax, putting the true cost of this transfer at €340m (€100m transfer fee plus €240m in salary/taxes).
Ronaldo had joined Real Madrid back in 2009 following six years at Manchester United. During this time he enjoyed four Champions League titles, plus two league championships, in addition to two Spanish Cups and three Fifa Club World Cups.
Ronaldo played for Portugal in the World Cup 2018, however they were eliminated by Uruguay.
