Habanero Takes to the Seas with Battleship Strike
Habanero has launched Battleship Strike, a naval warfare-themed slot that attempts to stand apart from the Egyptian tombs and fishing boats that crowd so much of the market. According to a detailed breakdown from Bigwinboard, the game brings a handful of layered features to a classic 5x3 layout, though its visual presentation leans firmly toward old-school Habanero aesthetics.
How the Game Works
The slot runs on 25 fixed paylines, with Wild symbols appearing only on reels 2 and 4. The headline mechanic is Radar Strike, which can fire randomly after any winning base-game spin. It selects a target ship, bombards positions across the reels and turns any ship it hits into a Wild — while also stacking multipliers onto the win. Landing on the target ship contributes x2 or x3 to the multiplier; other ships add x1 each, all stacked on top of an initial 1x base.
Fully sinking the targeted vessel unlocks 10 Free Games. Players can also reach the bonus the traditional way, with 3, 4 or 5 Scatters awarding 10, 20 or 50 spins respectively. During free spins, Radar Strike activates after every winning spin and can push the multiplier as high as x15 — a meaningful step up from the base game.
Hunt & Destroy Pick Feature
A secondary mechanic called Hunt & Destroy triggers via Strike symbols and drops players into a 15-position grid concealing five hidden ships. With seven initial attempts, players uncover ships to win their associated prize and earn an extra try. Small ships pay 1,500x stake each, Medium ships 500x each, and the Large Ship 250x — so smaller vessels actually carry the bigger rewards.
RTP, Feature Buy and Jackpots
The standard RTP is 95.64%, which Bigwinboard describes as somewhat disappointing. A Feature Buy at 47.28x stake guarantees Scatter entry and bumps the RTP to 96.65%. There is also a Super Bet option that doubles the stake in exchange for more frequent bonus triggers and the possibility of up to 100 Free Games. Minor and Grand progressive jackpots sit on top of everything, with the overall win potential reaching 13,272x stake.
Worth Playing?
Battleship Strike won’t win awards for modern design, but Bigwinboard’s assessment is that it plays better than it looks. The Radar Strike mechanic adds genuine value to ordinary base-game wins, and the Hunt & Destroy feature fits the theme without feeling forced.
