Mexico march through with a perfect record
Mexico wrapped up top spot in World Cup 2026 Group A with a thoroughly dominant 3–0 victory over Czechia, completing the group stage without dropping a single point.
The contest was level at the break, but Mexico took control in the 55th minute when M. Chávez broke the deadlock. The lead was doubled just six minutes later as Quiñones made it 2–0 in the 61st minute, effectively ending Czechia’s hopes of a comeback.
With Czechia unable to find a way back into the match, Fidalgo applied the finishing touch deep into added time, striking in the 90th+4th minute to seal a commanding 3–0 scoreline.
Group A picture settled

Czechia, who came into the final matchday already on the fringes of elimination, were unable to produce the performance needed and depart the tournament with only a single point to show from their three outings. Mexico, by contrast, were clinical and consistent throughout the group phase, and will carry considerable momentum into the last sixteen.
