Portugal Blow Uzbekistan Away
Portugal made an emphatic statement in Group K of the World Cup 2026 hub, dismantling Uzbekistan 5–0 on 23 June 2026. The match was effectively settled inside the opening forty minutes as Portugal tore their opponents apart with clinical finishing.
Ronaldo got the scoring under way in the 6th minute and had his second before the break, converting again in the 39th minute to underline Portugal’s dominance. Between those two strikes, Mendes added a third in the 17th minute, giving Portugal a commanding 3–0 lead long before the interval.
Second Half Gloss
Uzbekistan had no answer after the break either. Nematov turned the ball into his own net in the 60th minute to make it four, and Leão put the finishing touch on a convincing victory in the 87th minute, completing a 5–0 rout.
Uzbekistan were unable to muster a reply at any stage, finishing the match without a goal to their name across two World Cup appearances.

The result sends Portugal to the summit of Group K with four points from two games. Colombia sit second on three points from one game, DR Congo have one point from their opener, and Uzbekistan are rooted to the bottom without a point after two matches.
