Spain Ease to 4–0 Victory Over Saudi Arabia
Spain moved to the top of Group H with a commanding 4–0 win over Saudi Arabia in their 2026 FIFA World Cup fixture on 21 June. The result was settled early, with three goals arriving inside the first 25 minutes.
Yamal broke the deadlock in the 10th minute, and Spain doubled their lead when Oyarzabal struck in the 21st minute. The same player made it three just three minutes later, in the 24th minute, effectively ending the contest before the half-hour mark.
Own Goal Rounds Off the Scoring
The final goal came in the 49th minute when Al-Tambakti turned the ball into his own net, completing a miserable evening for Saudi Arabia and handing Spain a thoroughly convincing margin of victory.
The result leaves Spain in firm control of the group. For the latest positions across all groups, see the live World Cup 2026 standings.
Spain sit top of Group H on four points from two matches. Saudi Arabia remain on one point from two games, level with Cabo Verde and Uruguay, who have each played one fixture and picked up a point apiece. With the group still to play out, all three sides below Spain will need results to go their way. For everything surrounding the tournament, visit the World Cup 2026 hub.
Saudi Arabia, who offered little going forward, will need a significant improvement in their final group game if they are to have any hope of progressing. Spain, by contrast, look in commanding form atop the section.
