Avalanche — the new Good Times Studios flagship
Good Times Studios opened their account in April 2026 with Avalanche, and they did not mess about. 5×5 grid, cascading wins, multiplier Wilds, a max win ceiling of 15,000x your stake, and a bonus feature that grows a global multiplier on every spin. This is a Hacksaw-style mechanic stack with the volume turned up.
Right then, the actual play.
The base game
5×5 grid, no fixed paylines — wins come from clusters and cascades. Each win removes the winning symbols, new ones drop in, cascade continues until no new wins land. Cascading slots have been a Pragmatic Play and NoLimit City staple for years; this is that same school of design with a higher max win.
Wilds appear in two flavours. Regular Wilds substitute for any paying symbol. Multiplier Wilds carry a x2, x3, x4 or x5 multiplier — and crucially, when multiple Multiplier Wilds land in the same cascade, their values combine. Two x5 Multiplier Wilds in the same drop and you are looking at x10 applied to that win. This is where the bigger base-game hits come from.
The Second Chance Spin is the small kindness. Two Scatters land, you get one respin with the Scatter reels held and the rest spinning again to try to land the third. For a high-volatility slot, having a small mechanic that softens the bonus-trigger frustration matters. Sweet Bonanza never gave you that. Good for Avalanche.
The Avalanche Frenzy bonus
3 or more Scatters anywhere = 10 free spins. The bonus has a guaranteed Avalanche event on each spin (so cascades trigger regardless of base-game outcome) and a global multiplier that grows on every spin during the feature. This is where the maths goes from “fun cascading slot” to “potential 15,000x stake-ceiling territory.”
Honestly this is the standard 2025-2026 cascading-slot bonus pattern, and it works because the growing multiplier is what keeps the late-feature spins exciting. Comparable to NoLimit City’s xWays Hunter sessions or Hacksaw’s Mental bonus structure.
Max Win Wheel
A separate route to the 15,000x ceiling. The Max Win Wheel is a rare event that can land you directly on the max-win value. We have not tested it ourselves at session volume yet, so we can’t tell you the trigger frequency. Studios usually keep these honest — Max Win Wheel-style features hit roughly 1-in-200,000 to 1-in-500,000 spins on comparable slots. Treat the 15,000x figure as theoretical until you see one yourself.
How it feels to play
Read the demo on Good Times Studios’ site (the Avalanche demo runs on Hacksaw infrastructure but with the Good Times Studios skin). Animation is clean, sound design is light and playful, pacing is fast. The Alpine theme is not for everyone — if you want gangster, horror or premium Vegas vibes, this isn’t it. If you can stomach playful animated mountain critters, it’s a tight presentation.
The UK availability problem, again
Avalanche is currently at Gamdom, Wildz, Twin, Goldenbet, Lucky Anon, Telbet, Betwarts, Rolletto and Casino Slot Express. None of these are UKGC-licensed. If you are a UK player, you cannot play Avalanche at a casino we recommend right now.
This will likely change. Good Times Studios uses Hacksaw’s RGS, and Hacksaw is widely distributed at UKGC operators (MrVegas, LeoVegas, Videoslots all carry Hacksaw). The plumbing is there. The commercial agreements between Good Times Studios and UKGC casinos just haven’t completed yet. We’ll update this page when they do.
The verdict
8.2 — a strong launch slot held back only by distribution and the fact we have no real-world data yet. If you can play it at a casino you trust, it’s worth a session. If not, file it under “watch for UKGC availability.”
Compares well to Wanted Dead or a Wild for max-win ambition, San Quentin xWays for multiplier mechanic, and Tombstone R.I.P. for cascading bonus depth.

What we love
- 15,000x max win is genuinely chunky for a 5×5 cascading slot
- Multiplier Wilds (x2–x5) combine in cascades — clean mechanic, easy to follow
- Avalanche Frenzy bonus has a growing global multiplier — that's where the big wins come from
- 96.24% RTP at this volatility tier is honestly competitive
- Second Chance respin on 2 Scatters is a nice touch — softens the brutal high-vol misses
Where it slips
- High-volatility means long dry spells — not for casual sessions
- Released 14 April 2026, no real-world session-volume data yet
- Not currently at any UKGC-licensed casino we cover (May 2026)
- Theme is playful Alpine — not for players who want grim, edgy or premium
